Driven by the dual goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality and the green transformation of the building materials industry, the resource recovery and high-value utilization of non-metallic mineral solid waste has become a key breakthrough for industrial upgrading. A Vietnamese customer with years of experience in the local building materials sector planned to build a brand-new marble grinding line to reuse massive marble chip waste generated during marble mining and processing, expand its capacity of building powder raw materials, and meet strict local environmental standards. Its core requirement is clear and specific: to process marble chips and produce standard 200-mesh powder exclusively for local building material production.
Customized Solution with LM Vertical Roller Mill as Core Equipment
In accordance with the customer’s material characteristics, capacity plan and site conditions, Zenith tailors an integrated grinding solution adopting the LM Vertical Roller Mill as the main machine. Marble chips are mainly composed of calcium carbonate, with a Mohs hardness of approximately 3–3.5 and a density of around 2.7 g/cm³. Featuring high whiteness and uniform texture, they serve as high-quality raw materials for functional fillers. Based on these properties, Zenith optimizes the configuration of grinding rollers, grinding table liners and powder classification system to balance grinding efficiency and product purity.
The complete production line boasts high automation and is equipped with online monitoring modules. Operators can track key parameters in real time, including main unit current, wind pressure and powder fineness, which greatly reduces manual intervention and supports refined, standardized operation and maintenance. After equipment delivery and commissioning, Zenith provides full-cycle long-term supporting services. Specialized systematic technical training is offered for on-site operators and maintenance personnel, covering practical items such as standard start-stop procedures, routine inspection and maintenance, wear part replacement and troubleshooting. This helps the customer’s team master operation and maintenance skills rapidly and realize independent, regular and standardized line operation.
Robust Technology for Large Scale High Purity Powder Production
LM Vertical Roller Mill is a large integrated intelligent grinding equipment independently developed by Zenith. Drawing on nearly four decades of experience in R&D and manufacturing of grinding machinery and incorporating internationally advanced grinding technologies, it integrates grinding and drying in one unit. No separate drying equipment is required, which simplifies the line layout, cuts floor space and civil engineering costs. It is widely suitable for large-scale processing of non-metallic minerals such as marble, limestone, calcite and dolomite.
Large-scale design for mass production: Single machine capacity ranges from 3 to 340 t/h, ideal for high-output grinding projects and lowering unit investment cost. The integrated structure saves floor space and improves space utilization.
Ultra-low energy consumption for remarkable cost reduction and efficiency gains: Adopting an advanced grinding principle and hydraulic loading system, it achieves a substantial reduction in overall energy consumption. The grinding roller does not make direct contact with the grinding table, resulting in low iron content in finished powder and reliably preserving the whiteness and purity of marble powder.
Easy operation and maintenance with stable performance: Equipped with an automatic control system supporting remote operation. Limit devices prevent direct contact between roller sleeves and table liners, avoiding destructive impact and violent vibration. The rocker arm can be tilted by the maintenance cylinder for fast, convenient replacement of roller sleeves and liners, minimizing downtime losses.
Eco-friendly upgrade for sustainable development: Fully negative-pressure operation combined with high-efficiency dust collectors ensures low dust emission and meets national ultra-low emission standards. Low-noise design improves the working environment and helps build green smart factories.
At present, this Vietnamese marble grinding production line has been successfully put into operation, running smoothly with stable working conditions. The produced 200 mesh marble powder features high whiteness, excellent purity and uniform particle size, fully complying with the application standards for high-end building materials. This project not only greatly strengthens the customer’s raw material supply capacity and market competitiveness in the local Vietnamese building materials market, but also sets a benchmark for the resource recovery and high-value green utilization of local marble solid waste.
